None of this is True, by Lisa Jewell - Clare

I've been a fan of Lisa Jewell since her first fabulous book, Ralph's Party. She has really surpassed herself with this latest. It is real edge-of-your-seat stuff! It had me completely gripped.

Alix and Josie find themselves celebrating their 45th birthdays at the same time, in the same restaurant.

For Alix we sense that fine dining with a large group of friends is normal; for Josie, a meal out with her husband is a big deal. Her fascination with Alix leads to the latter interviewing Josie for her renowned podcast.

Josie tells a heartbreaking story of a traumatic youth, a disturbing marriage to a much older man and a peculiar relationship with her daughters - one estranged, one trapped in an online reality - as Alix's own 'perfect' life starts to show cracks.

This is a book that will have you fearing at different times for both Alix and Josie as it weaves a compelling psychological masterpiece. It's not always a comfortable read, but I loved it!
